Access By Air
Air access has never been easier or cheaper with Qantas Link, Jetstar, Tiger Airways and Virgin Blue all servicing Mackay's award winning airport and offering affordable airfares. Mackay is connected by air directly with Brisbane, Cairns, Gladstone, Melbourne, Sydney, Rockhampton and Townsville.

Access By Rail
Queensland Railways' Tilt Train and Sunlander services stop at Mackay daily from Brisbane to Cairns via coastal cities.

Access By Road
Mackay lies astride the Bruce Highway making road access easy. Inland access is provided from Emerald in the Central Queensland Highlands through to Clermont and the Peak Downs Highway. Express coach services of Greyhound, McCafferty and Premier operate along the coastal highway.

Access By Sea
Mackay Marina and the Commercial Port of Mackay provide excellent facilities for cruising yachts, fishing vessels and deep-sea cruise and cargo ships. A number of recreational charter vessels are based in Mackay.

Climate
Just 340km north of the Tropic of Capricorn, the Mackay Region's hot summers and warm, sunny winters make our climate one of the most enviable. Rainfall peaks during the summer months.
