Mackay Tourism Limited is the peak tourism organisation for the Mackay - Isaac region, and this section of our website provides details of our vision, mission, structure and responsibilities.
Approximately 750,000 visitors arrive in our region each year. They spend over $350m per annum and sustain direct local employment for over 3,000 people.
MTL is a not-for-profit, membership-based, destination development and marketing organisation, structured to promote our region as a leisure and business event destination.
Our operational focus is upon:
- Destination Marketing to selected target groups
- Fostering Tourism Infrastructure and Product Development
- Facilitating the Access and Dispersal of visitors to, and within, our region
- Member services and community support of tourism.
We operate three accredited Visitor Information Centres that welcome and assist approximately 40,000 travellers every year.
