Carmila Creek is an ideal place to launch a boat, otherwise cast a line from land, near the creek mouth.

Description

Carmila is situated approximately 96 kilometres south of Mackay on the Bruce Highway. Carmila offers a 24-hour roadhouse, caravan park, general store, post office and library, and is a major sporting and social centre for the surrounding cane farms. Carmila beach is only six kilometres from the town, with camping facilities including amenities blocks, barbecues, playgrounds and a boat ramp.

Campers and caravans can enjoy the local campground and its facilities paid via Parkmobile. Overnight camping at Carmila is charged at AUD $12.50 per night for a maximum stay of 14 consecutive nights.

Please be advised it is recommended travellers fill their vans prior to arrival at Carmila, as currently there is no potable water available in Carmila for van use or drinking. Bottled drinking water can be purchased from the Service Station for your convenience.
