The Mackay International Film Festival brings six excellent films to the big screen as a part of this year's exciting program. Opening night is the fabulous Oscar Award winning Estonian drama The Fencer – based on true events, this engaging film is a definite must-see, screening Friday August 4 at 7.30pm. Stay to enjoy the drinks, supper and atmosphere included in the ticket price of this Opening Night event. On Saturday, the terrific film The Eagle Huntress (with English narration) from China screens at 2pm, then the Italian comedy Perfect Strangers is at 4pm followed by the ingenious Chilean film Neruda at 6.30pm. The Festival continues on Sunday with the English version of the family friendly animation April and the Extraordinary World screening at 10.30am, rated PG, with tickets being inexpensive, it makes it affordable fun for everyone! The festival finishes with the brilliant German comedy Toni Erdmann, screening at 1pm and described as one of the best films of the year! Early booking for all films is recommended. Tickets can be purchased in advance from Birch Carroll and Coyle Event Cinemas. Everyone is welcome!
