Membership
Mackay Tourism’s membership comprises of public and private-sector organisations across our Region. We focus upon tourism product development, traveller access to and within our region, destination marketing, visitor dispersal and the professional development of our industry - all with the aim of building visitor numbers, length of stay and yield. To bind this fragmented industry into one cohesive and effective direction, we communicate in many ways, including through membership meetings and forums.

- Encouraging infrastructure and product development
- Cooperative marketing and collaboration at regional, national and international levels
- Fostering the professional development of our tourism operators through year-round educational programs, workshops, market intelligence and skilling
- Engaging with our regional community to educate them to the benefits - economic, cultural and amenity-wise, of growing tourism in our region
- Assisting over 40,000 visitors annually at our three accredited Visitor Information Centres (open 7 days) at Nebo Road, Town Hall and Melba House, to maximise their length of stay and experience
