Relocating to Mackay
The Mackay Regional Council comprises the City of Mackay, north to Midge Point, south to St Lawarence and west to Clermont with an area encompassing in excess of 90,000 square kilometres comprising of beaches, islands, hinterlands, gorges, mountains and lowlands. Isaac Regional Council now encompasses the three former shires being Belyando, Broadsound and Nebo. The Isaac Regional Council covers an area from "Coal to the Coast" in Central Queensland, incorporating the towns of Clermont, Dysart, Glenden, Middlemount, Moranbah, Nebo, Coppabella, St Lawrence, Carmila, Clairview, Greenhill and Ilbilbie. The region as a whole, is home to 143,000 friendly and welcoming people and the relaxed tropical city of Mackay has a population in excess of 80,000. It is no wonder the region can offer such an abundant range of services and facilities. The Mackay Region is the largest sugar cane producing area in Australia, and the Port of Mackay has the largest bulk export sugar terminal in the world. The Bowen Basin to Mackay's west provides an enormous natural resource, producing 85% of Australia's coal.
