A National Voice for Mackay Tourism Operators

Mackay Tourism Director, and Owner of Comfort Resort Blue Pacific Mr Nick uit den Bogaard has been elected as a Member of the Accommodation Association of Queensland State Advisory Board giving a stronger voice to tourism operators across The Mackay Region.

The Queensland State Advisory Board has been formally launched by the Queensland Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development and Minister for the Commonwealth Games the Hon. Kate Jones MP during preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast.

Mr uit den Bogaard will sit on the State Advisory Board joining accommodation providers from across Queensland to advocate on behalf of the industry and influence policy development.

Mr uit den Bogaard was optimistic about the newly launched board. “The Queensland State Advisory Board demonstrates a commitment by the Queensland State Government and the Accommodation Association of Queensland to listen to accommodation providers in Queensland and develop policy to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the industry.”

“I’m very much looking forward to being a voice for tourism operators in Regional Queensland and helping to influence Government policy and drive growth for our industry” said Mr uit de Bogaard.

General Manager of Mackay Tourism, Mr Tas Webber, was pleased to hear of Mr uit den Bogaard’s election to the Queensland State Advisory Board. “Nick has been an active Board Director of Mackay Tourism and has a proven record of advocating for the accommodation sector”.

Mr Webber continued “I have full confidence Nick will have success in representing accommodation providers and the Mackay Region on a state level. All Mackay tourism operators should be pleased with this result”.
