Bundoora Dam
Attractions Middlemount
Description
Beautiful Bundoora Dam is located approximately 28 kilometres south-west of Middlemount on Connection Road, which links Middlemount and Dysart with Tieri and Capella. The man-made dam was constructed on German Creek and is near the German Creek Coal Mine.
It holds around 10000 mega litres of water when full and is an ideal spot for water skiing and swimming, with areas of sandy shoreline.
For keen fishermen, the dam is full of saratoga, golden perch, eel-tail catfish, sleepy cod, spangled perch and redclaw crayfish.
Boating is permitted (however a six knot speed limit applies to the dam). The area is well equipped with tables and public amenities. Swimming and water skiing is also very popular.
