The Mackay Region Tourism Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of the regions tourism industry, including individuals, businesses (industry operators) and events.

The Mackay Region Tourism Awards aim to:
Publicly recognise and reward excellence within the industry;
Support improved business planning, development and internal analysis for tourism operators;
Provide a benchmark for best practice within the tourism industry;
Reinforce the value of the tourism industry;
Encourage the continual raising of standards among tourism operators in the region and across Queensland;
Promote an annual platform of celebration for the industry and offer networking opportunities for operators, supporters and sponsors alike;

Interested in partnering with The Mackay Region Tourism Awards?
Hall of Fame will be introduced to The Mackay Region Tourism Awards in 2018. These Awards will be presented to entrants who have won their selected category for three consecutive years, starting from the 2016 awards. This does not stop the entrants from applying for the category in which they receive the Hall of fame for future Award events.
The 2018 Tourism Awards will include benchmarking for Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards. This ensures submissions are of high quality based on merit. The benchmark has been set in line with the Queensland Tourism Awards as per the following:
