Customer Service Workshop Takes Place

Building customer loyalty by creating an exceptional customer experience was the focus of a customer service workshop hosted today by Mackay Tourism.

The interactive workshop was delivered by Ian Stephens who has been voted as one of the top 20 motivational speakers in Australia. The fifty tourism operators in attendance learnt skills and tools to assist in improving customer service, recruiting in a small talent pool and leading and managing small teams.

Mackay Tourism Chief Executive Officer Tas Webber spoke of the importance of good customer service within the tourism industry.

“Tourism is a service-based industry that relies on creating positive experiences for the consumer,” said Mr Webber.

“As one of Australia’s leading experts in customer service, Ian Stephens has provided very valuable insights that will assist tourism operators to grow profits and improve the overall tourism sentiment of the Mackay Region.”

“Mackay Tourism will continue to deliver workshops for our industry to build business capacity and assist tourism recover from COVID-19.”
