The Australian Opals basketball squad will fine-tune its 2018 Commonwealth Games preparations with a training camp in Mackay. In exciting times for Mackay and basketball in this city, the Opals will train at the McDonald’s Multi-Sports Stadium in the lead-up to the Games. The training camp, from April 1 to 3, will provide an ideal environment for the Opals to prepare for Commonwealth Games success. New Opals coach and Mackay local Sandy Brondello said her home town was an ideal location for the Opals’ preparation.
