The 2018 Mackay Mazda Festival of Arts will finish up with an all-time festival favourite, the Friends of the MECC Jazz Brunch. They’re not sure if it’s the amazing buffet brunch menu, or the fantastic jazz musicians that make this event such a success, or possibly it’s the perfect combination of both! This year’s event features the smooth sounds of Melbourne-based Jazz and the Silver Screen. Showcasing jazz classics and selections from celebrated film scores, this concert presents music that sprang to life on the silver screen. The stunning vocals of musical theatre star Alinta Chidzey (West Side Story, Singin’ in the Rain, Jesus Christ Superstar) are accompanied by an ensemble of Melbourne’s most accomplished musicians, including members of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria. Indulge in delicious brunch favourites including scrambled eggs, Maple Bacon, sweet and savoury mini muffins and Crepes Suzette with cream, and enjoy the superb entertainment from Jazz and the Silver Screen for a Jazz Brunch not to be missed!
