The Rio Tinto River 2 Reef Ride charity event is a mass participation ride, not a race, to raise funds for two local charities - RACQ CQ Rescue and Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association and to encourage more people to become active and involved in cycling. Last year this event attracted thousands of cyclists. Every year this stand out community event grows and grows to be an event the region can hang their hat on. There are four ride distances to choose from: 35km, 60km, 90km or 135km. They'll finish at the Blue Water Quay where breakfast food stalls will be operating - perfect for your friends and family to greet you when you cross the line. The Rio Tinto River 2 Reef Ride is a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy the glorious scenery Mackay has to offer while raising money for worthwhile causes.
