Get Involved in Your Visitor Information Centre
Mackay Tourism has extended an invitation to all Mackay Region locals to come in and experience their new Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre located in Sarina.
Featuring interactive displays, virtual reality headsets and the very popular touch screen table, locals can find those hidden gems and discover why hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, journey to The Mackay Region.
Locals that are especially passionate and proud of The Mackay Region are also encouraged to volunteer at the Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre, the Mackay Visitor Information Centre at City Gates or with the Mobile Visitor Information Centre.
General Manager of Mackay Tourism, Tas Webber, said Mackay Region locals should feel proud of their region and their new Visitor Information Centre.
“The Mackay Region Visitor Information Centre will be many visitors first impression of the region, and its people”.
“The Visitor Information Centre displays The Mackay Region to the world, and our passionate team of volunteers are the trusted face of our region”.
Mr Webber continued “Tourism as an industry is unique in that the entire community can be involved and ultimately benefit from its success”.
“With two Visitor Information Centres, plus the mobile VIC, there are always opportunities for locals to volunteer and represent their region”
“Our Visitor Information Centres aren’t just for visitors too. Come into one of our Visitor Information Centres and you’ll rekindle your love for the region we’re lucky enough to call home” Mr Webber said.
