Heritage Walks back in 2017 to showcase Mackay’s local history

The free Heritage Walk of Mackay guided tours are back for 2017, running twice per week from May to September.    

The guided tours are run by Mackay Tourism volunteers on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.45am for a 9am departure from Paxtons Warehouse on the corner of River and Carlyle Street.

The walk takes approximately 90 minutes and visits many of the Mackay City Centre’s heritage and art-deco buildings, and includes story-telling and humour to relive the history of Mackay.

The guided tour finishes with complimentary tea and coffee.

The walks are free to the public, both locals and visitors. Bookings are not essential, however more information can be found by calling the Mackay Visitor Information Centre on 1300 130 001.
