Last chance to see Mackay in national fishing highlights

The Australian Fishing Competition (AFC XIII) has cast The Mackay Region as a fishing hot spot with the competition being played out on television screens across the nation throughout July and August.

Now there are just two weekends left to catch a glimpse of the region as a top fishing destination.

Filming for the series was undertaken at Eungella Dam, with mention of The Mackay Region and Broken River throughout the series.

Mackay Tourism Ltd General Manager, Tas Webber, said the series showcases The Mackay Region as one of the best recreational fishing regions in Australia.

“The AFC Series brings the best anglers from around Australia to experience the excellent fishing that The Mackay Region has to offer,” he said.

“This is also a great opportunity to showcase the region as a premier fishing destination to those watching from all over Australia."
