Special Deals to Lure Visitors North this Winter

Mackay Tourism is today launching a new marketing campaign aimed at enticing visitors to escape the cold this winter and relax in the tropical paradise of The Mackay Region.

The campaign focuses on Empty Nesters, that is couples aged 50+ with no children in the household, and older families and features a coordinated marketing campaign across traditional media, advertising and social media.

Marketing will encourage couples looking to reconnect with each other to head off the beaten track this winter and immerse themselves in all the nature and wildlife experiences The Mackay Region has to offer.

General Manager of Mackay Tourism, Tas Webber, said the region is increasingly featuring on bucket lists for visitors both in Queensland and Interstate.

“The Mackay Region has a lot to offer visitors looking to switch off the stresses of modern life and escape to nature and relax. Our winter campaign will continue to focus on our regions hero experiences such as the popular wallabies and kangaroos on the beach sunrise experience at Cape Hillsborough. This experience ticks all the boxes for visitors looking for those unforgettable holiday moments.”

“We are also doing work in the Isaac Region to encourage more Recreational Vehicle (RV) travellers to explore the Mining Trail from Mackay to Clermont, and the Isaac Coast which is an absolute hidden gem” Mr. Webber said.

Dozens of Mackay Region tourism operators are participating in the winter campaign by offering visitors truly unique and exciting experiences. Deals include adventure tours, fine dining, and luxury accommodation at special discounts and with special inclusions.

The full list of exciting deals is available on The Mackay Region website at www.mackayregion.com/deals. Deals can be booked through the website and as always, the friendly volunteers at the Mackay Visitor Information Centre are available to assist visitors to create their perfect holiday.
