Tickets on Sale for Tourism's Showpiece Events
Details on tourism’s biggest events have been announced, with tickets for the 2019 Mackay Region Tourism Conference and Awards night now available.
The Mackay Region Tourism Conference will take place on Thursday, 26th September 2019, and is proudly hosted and supported by the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC).
With this year’s theme of ‘Using Engagement to Grow Your Tourism Business’, the conference is an event not to be missed for Mackay and Isaac accommodation providers, tourism operators, retail businesses, preferred suppliers, event organisers and stakeholders. The event aims to develop knowledge, improve skills and provide practical tools to increase business profits and sustainability.
The following night, and also held and supported by the MECC, will be tourism’s night of nights, where the outstanding achievements of the region’s tourism industry will be recognised at the 2019 Mackay Region Tourism Awards.
Open to anyone wishing to attend, the awards promise to be a night of celebration, delicious food, drinks and entertainment.
Mackay Tourism General Manager Tas Webber encouraged all businesses and stakeholders involved in the tourism industry, to attend these showpiece events.
“Following ten successive quarters of growth and record numbers of visitors and expenditure, Mackay’s tourism industry has a lot to celebrate. The 2019 Mackay Region Tourism Awards will toast the businesses, supporters and individuals who have made this success possible,” he said.
Mr Webber continued, “significant growth in tourism opportunities also makes attending the Mackay Region Tourism Conference highly recommended. The exciting line-up of industry expert speakers guarantees each attendee walks away with practical ways to improve their business.”
