Visitor Guide creates inspiration for out-of-towners

Mackay Tourism, with the help of local tourism operators, has published its latest Mackay Region Visitor Guide, to inspire visitors to consider The Mackay Region as their next holiday destination.

Forty-thousand copies of the newly published 2018 Guide appears in over 100 accredited Visitor Information Centres throughout Queensland and will be used as the key publication to drive visitation at trade and travel shows this year.

The 44-page publication will officially be launched at the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow, which will run from 21 to 26 February at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

This year, The Mackay Region produced a stand-alone publication, having previously joined with The Whitsundays to do a combined Visitor Guide.

Mackay Tourism General Manager, Tas Webber, said this was an indication of the growth that the region had experienced over the past 18 months.

“The Mackay Region has become a sought-after destination in its own right, and we are really sharpening our marketing messages and delivering it to the right markets,” Mr Webber said.

“We are really looking forward to promoting our products at the three Caravan & Camping Shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney this year, as well as a wide range of other events and opportunities.”

The 2018 Mackay Region Visitor Guide includes fantastic images and highlights the top experiences in the region to inspire visitors.
